Morozova Borzoi. Over 40 years of breeding, showing, coursing and racing.
Morozova was originally founded by Jerry White of Spokane, WA in the late 1970's. Her original lines were based on the Twin Elms Kennels breeding which at that time was owned by Gordon and Sylvia Sohr. In 1981 Jerry sold a Borzoi bitch to Janet Adams and that began a partnership which has lasted for over 35 years. Jerry is no longer active in breeding and showing, but is still included for her good advice and eye for a good dog. Janet is carrying on the Morozova tradition with breeding quality Borzoi which excel in both the breed ring and in obedience. In the past Morozova produced top coursing and racing Borzoi, too.
Janet and Kay Novotny of Reno, Nevada have partnered up with their breeding program and are mostly doing co-ownered breedings. When Silver GCH Morozova's Sierra Sunrise at Rey JC, bred by Jerry and Janet, joined Kay in 2009 as a baby puppy she brought excitement into Kay's life when she finished her Ch. title at the age of 12 months, her GCH before she was two, then went on to win The Hound Classic in Southern California, all owner handled by Kay.
Kay and Janet have co-bred three litters from Dawn. The latest, sired by Hemlock Hollow Aruzia The Journey Continues, will soon be out in the show ring. We have great hopes for them. Dawn is now retired but will make occasional appearances in the Veteran classes and at Specialties.
We also had a litter of two out of GCH Morozova's Emmalyne, born on August 21, 2014, sired by MBIS MBISS Am Can Ch Taugo's Ulric . One of our baby girls moved to California where she is living with Cindy Tellefsen and Bev Peck. The other, Morozova Rey's Maggie Magnolia, is back in Washington and is well on her way to finishing her Ch title.
Please wander through our collection of photos and let us share our history in the form of our beloved Borzoi.
